Innotrans 2022 — DOYDESIGN

We had a lot of interest in our ultralight table at InnoTrans this year and it was good to see the rail industry actively looking for sustainable interior solutions. Some highlights included a twin sheet thermoformed seat that can be made from recycled plastic and seatbacks constructed from natural materials.

There was a a clear trend towards space optimisation using translatable seating to provide dual use space. Although we have seen this before in other industries some of the concepts looked like they could mature into solid future products.

The use of technical fabrics to allow movement whilst supporting the body with simplified structures was really interesting. One of our mobility projects is looking for cutting edge fabric construction using either natural or recycled materials.
